Associate Professor, Latina/Latino Studies Program Jonathan Xavier Inda is associate professor of Latina/Latino Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research areas include the anthropology of globalization, migrant and diasporic cultures, governmentality and biopolitics, and the critical study of science, medicine, and the body. Among his publications are Targeting Immigrants: Government, Technology, and Ethics (Blackwell, 2006) and the edited volumes Race, Identity, and Citizenship (Blackwell, 1999), Anthropologies of Modernity: Foucault, Governmentality, and Life Politics (Blackwell, 2005), and The Anthropology of Globalization, 2nd Edition (Blackwell, 2008).
